YOUNG in the lower Dalälven

Young in Lower Dalälven has been successful and 33 project groups have planned and carried out fantastic events and activities!

About the project

Young in Lower Dalälven was carried out by Leader Lower
Dalälven 3 between April 2017 and September 2020. The outreach work was carried out between the autumn of 2017 and the spring of 2020. The project was Leader Lower Dalälven 3's main youth initiative in the area during the program period 2014-2020 and targeted the age group 13 to 25 years. The project had a project manager also serving as a youth coach with the task of spreading information about the project, coaching young people to carry out activities themselves, and administering the project and the youth's activities. The main part of the project was 20 previously undetermined activities under the budget item organizer development, which were earmarked for activities carried out by young project groups. The project would thus enable young people between 13 and 25 to carry out activities that they themselves had developed.

The project also included activities such as inspiration seminars, events for establishing youth networks, and exchange of experiences with other leader areas, in Sweden and abroad. Together, these activities would result in empowered youth with an increased sense of being able to influence their leisure time and with new knowledge and experience of running projects. In this report, the terms youth project, youth activities
and youth events will be used interchangeably to describe the youth-led activities under the budget item organizer development

Purpose with the project aimed at strengthening young people in the leader area and in various ways including them in the local development work. By providing youth with inspiration and skills development to plan and carry out events and opportunities for new contacts and networks for influence, the project would both increase youth's
actual and perceived ability to influence their community and their daily lives.

The goal with the project were carried out events
organized by young people for young people in the area, conducted inspiration seminars, carried out events to establish a youth network in the area, documentation
of the project and the events carried out by the youth with compiled results and lessons learned, as well as national and international exchange of experiences
with a youth focus.

The activities in the project's budget there were funds for a youth coach
and outreach activities, nine inspiration seminars, 20 events carried out by youth, a larger meeting to establish a youth network and
participation in network meetings and exchanges of experiences.

March 2019
23,535 SEK

A group of young adults in Örbyhus wanted to start an activity for the local
youth. The idea was that young leaders and a space separate from school
could provide the youth with a refuge and an opportunity to both relax
and grow as individuals. They wanted to organize meetings with crafts, video games, opportunities
for homework help, movie nights, a sports evening, and an evening at the swimming pool.
The meetings were held every Friday evening for half a year and were very appreciated.
The group collaborated with the leader project Framtidsfabriken
and was allowed to use their premises at the station in Örbyhus. The most well-attended
Friday saw over thirty youth and #Dagens Youth has
today over seventy followers on Instagram! The youth project resulted in
more meetings than what was written in the application. The purchased projector was used
diligently. The visits to the sports hall and swimming pool were absent due to
the fact that there were no available times that matched with #Dagens Youth's
meetings. The leaders report that #Dagens Youth really became the sanctuary
they hoped for and that they and the youth really got the chance to
get to know each other. The Friday meetings continued after the project's end in the association

The girls coordinated rides to the riding school and met during the spring and
summer 2019. The project was successful. The group faced some difficulties
