Living water
Living Water is a project focused on sustainable development of water environments within the biosphere area Lower Dalälven.
About the project
Living Water is a project that aims to contribute to a sustainable development of water environments within the Biosphere Area of Lower Dalälven. Through collaboration between associations, businesses, municipalities, and other stakeholders, the project will create new opportunities to develop and make accessible the area's lakes, rivers, and waterways.
The project focuses on ecological, economic, and social sustainability, with particular emphasis on engaging more people in the development of water environments. Through networks, joint activities, and information efforts, the area's water resources will be highlighted and contribute to a vibrant and attractive countryside.
Purpose is to strengthen and elevate Lower Dalälven's unique water environments by implementing smart and sustainable solutions in line with the EU's ”Smart Villages” initiative. The goal is to develop and improve infrastructure, promote local engagement by creating robust networks and clusters, and increase accessibility to the area's rich natural resources.
Target group
The project targets residents, businesses, and visitors in the Lower Dalälven biosphere area, including municipalities, schools, village associations, and water owners.
Participants benefit from economic and ecological development through improved recreational resources and infrastructure, as well as increased information about and accessibility to the area. The project also strengthens biodiversity related to water environments, contributing to local development, improved living conditions, and social cohesion.
The target group has been actively involved through the pre-study, workshops, and public meetings, where they have been able to influence the project's design and direction. The project will maintain a continuous dialogue with the target group through regularly recurring networking days, digital meetings, and field days that are planned.
