Kids loop

Marma International Pump Track – Kidsloop

About the project

The project has built a Pump Track course for cycling, where Leader Nedre Dalälven has financed the part of the course called Kids loop.

The track was completed in the fall of 2024 and the official opening took place in May 2025.

Purpose The aim of the project was to create a safe, secure, easily accessible and, not least, fun gathering place for mainly children and young people who, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, disability and conditions, should be able to take part in the pump track.

Who or what has benefited from the project?
In addition to the obvious, children, young people and adults in Marma. Also the kiosk and the Marmabygden association through more visitors. Restaurants, shops and hotels in connection with overnight stays, not least linked to competitions that are arranged.

What other results and impacts has the project created that you had not anticipated at the time?
project start?
A small unexpected group of visitors we frequently see are aged 40-55+. They are mainly people who were part of Sweden's BMX scene in the 80s/90s. Some of them have met for the first time in 30 years with us and many of them are now seen regularly at the track. Most are more long-distance visitors from, among others, Dalarna, Sundsvall and Stockholm.
We were completely convinced that the course would be popular, but perhaps not in the way we saw last summer. When we benchmarked other facilities, we have not seen this type of visitor statistics.
We dare to stick our chin out and say that Marmas Pumptrack is the most visited in Sweden.
This is also evidenced by our time and statistics system, which we were the first in Sweden to implement.

We also did not expect that there would be organized excursions to the track, but we have seen different types of schools visit the track on several occasions.

”"It has really become the gathering point we were hoping for. The whole of Sweden has been here and cycled already"”
