Have you ever thought that there should be more activities, meeting places or opportunities for young people where you live?
Now you have the chance to be part of making a change.
Leader Lower Dalälven is starting a pilot project this autumn where local activity councils will be formed in three municipalities. The purpose is to give young people a greater opportunity to develop their own ideas, create activities, and influence the development in their local area. The project is being carried out as a pilot to test a model that can ultimately create even more opportunities for young people in rural areas.
The municipalities selected for the pilot project are Heby, Avesta, and Tierp.
What is an activity council?
An activity council is a group of young people who together plan, develop, and implement activities for other young people in the municipality.
It’s not about sitting in long meetings or just discussing problems. The focus is on creating, implementing, and developing ideas that actually become reality.
Together with other young people, you will have the opportunity to go from idea to action with support from the project, local mentors, and a youth coach.
What do you get as a participant?
Being part of the activity council gives you the opportunity to:

The most important thing is that the activities are created by young people, for young people.
How does it work?
During the autumn, participants will meet on several occasions to get to know each other, develop ideas, and implement activities. The project includes local startup meetings, regional networking meetings, planning meetings, and the implementation of youth-driven activities.
You will receive support along the way, but it is the young people themselves who drive the work and make the decisions.
Who can participate?
We are looking for you who:
● Are between 13 and 25 years old
● Live in one of the participating municipalities of the project
● Are curious about creating and developing ideas
● Want to meet new people
● Want to do something positive for other young people
You don’t need any prior knowledge or experience. The most important thing is that you want to be involved and contribute.
