Sustainable forestry and multiple uses in forests

About the project

The project aims to strengthen small-scale forestry in the Nedre Dalälv area through a combination of information and knowledge initiatives and network building. Through training, workshops and exchange of experiences, forest owners and others active in rural areas are given the opportunity to develop their knowledge, learn new methods and open doors to more sources of income. The project thus contributes both to more sustainable forestry and to promoting the local economy and community in rural areas.

Purpose The aim of the project is to inspire new ways of making money from the forest where a variety of the benefits the forest delivers can be utilized.

The goal The project aims to increase knowledge about multiple farming and sustainable forestry, encourage networking and create channels to spread more knowledge, expand knowledge among forest owners and other entrepreneurs who are involved in forest-related activities or want to start a forest-related business, and create accessible and easy-to-understand media resources for those who want to learn more.

The activities The project includes two multi-use conferences, three short information films about natural forestry and multi-use in the forest, an information leaflet about natural forestry and how it opens up for more multi-use in the forest, an infographic about sustainable forestry, a brochure about the use of different types of wood, two local inspiration days and a 10-15 minute information film about natural forestry and multi-use.
