About the project

The project has good conditions to contribute to new and preserved supply opportunities. Through activities to increase awareness of the transition to sustainable development and new forms of collaboration, the local capacity for action is expected to be strengthened and the attractiveness of the area to increase.

Purpose The aim of the project is to promote sustainable development through cross-border and knowledge-sharing meetings and collaboration. A development center will be created, filled with activities, and increase people's awareness of the transition to sustainable development. The needs and wishes of target groups regarding what is needed to transition to a sustainable society will be mapped, and the practical transition will begin. This is expected to strengthen local capacity for action and deepen participation in community development. The project aims to prevent the depletion of local development where the area risks becoming a ”commuter town” and counteract emigration and deteriorating community structure. Through the involvement of Tierp Municipality's rural developers, new and sustainable forms of collaboration between the municipality, development group, residents, and entrepreneurs are expected to be created.

The goal The project is a development center, filled with activities. Trained transition ambassadors. Mapping of target groups' needs and wishes regarding what is needed to transition to a sustainable society.

The activities In the project are: Hiring a project manager; Involvement of Tierp Municipality's rural developers to create sustainable forms of collaboration; Renting a space filled with activities, including Makerspace, Citizen café, Language café, and ”Super Sunday” with market, fair, inspirational lecture, and exhibition/performance; Transition training.
